Report On Stakeholder Consultation Workshop On Legislation Of GHEITI
Introduction: The Ghana Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (GHEITI) National Steering Committee through GTZ and the Integrated Social Development Centre (ISODEC) on behalf of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) separately engaged the services of legal experts in 2008 to review existing legislation and recommend if Ghana required a separate legislation for her EITI process. However, the recommendations from the Consultants were different and therefore the need to undertake a stakeholder consultation in arriving at a final decision on whether or not Ghana requires a separate legislation for her EITI process.
